The Mclaren F1, the supercar that set the standard in the sports car industry and deemed as the greatest cars ever built! It is manufactured by McLaren automotive. The fastest car in the 20th century with doors that looks like bat wings. Maybe Batman needs to order one and paint it black. On 31 March 1998, it set the record for the world's fastest production car, reaching 231 mph (372 km/h) within 10 seconds.

SPECIFICATIONS

It features numerous modern designs and technologies for a car that is very old (1922).It is one of the lightest supercar with perfect aerodynamics design despite having three seats where the driver's seat is at the centre and slightly facing out so that the driver's visibility is superior to those sitting and enjoying. It features a powerful engine and is somewhat track oriented, but not to the degree that it compromises everyday usability and comfort.

ENGINE

Gordon Murray insisted that the engine for this car should be naturally aspirated so as to increase reliability and driver control. Turbochargers and superchargers increase power but they increase complexity and can decrease reliability as well as introducing an additional aspect of latency and loss of feedback. The ability of the driver to maintain maximum control of the engine is thus decreased. Murray thus reached the Honda power plant with his 550 hp (410 kW; 558 PS), 600 mm (23.6 in) block length and a total weight of 250 kg                                                (551 lb), but Honda refused to help. While the Honda refused there was BMW approached for help. The BMW took an interest on helping Murray. So the BMW’s engine expert Paul Rosche designed and built Murray a 6.1 L (6,064 cc) 60-degree V12 engine called the BMW S70/2.  At 627 hp (468 kW; 636 PS) and 266 kg (586 lb) the BMW engine ended up 14% mo re powerful and 16 kg (35 lb) heavier than Gordon Murray's original specifications, with the same block length. Thus a new engine developed which dominated the McLaren for next successful years.

VIEW

All features of F1 were, according to Gordon Murray, obsessed over including the interior. The metal plates fitted to improve aesthetics of the cockpit are claimed to be 20 thousandths of an inch (0.5 mm) thick to save weight. The driver's seat of the McLaren F1 is custom fitted to the specifications desired by the customer for optimal fit and comfort; the seats are handmade from CFRP and covered in light Connolly leather. Standard equipment on the stock McLaren F1 includes full cabin air conditioning which is a rarity on most sports cars. Further comfort features included SeKurit electric defrost/demist windscreen and side glass, electric window lifts, remote central locking, Kenwood 10-disc CD stereo system and many more.
McLaren F1 has one of the most  lavish and glossy exterior. It has a slim and sleek appearance. It features two doors. These are often termed as "butterfly doors" because they move up & out while opening. The car features has an alliminiun block and head. Body panels are made from carbon fiber thus making it lighter. In fact, F1 is the first car to use complete carbon fiber . Magnesium as well aluminum is used for attachment of suspension system. McLaren F1 features 5 spoke cast magnesium based wheels. The car has high wattage four lamp headlights as well reverse and rear fog lights.

SPEED

I want to say that though the speed of this car is not which the supercar of this time features. But anyway this speed is quite awesome for a car that is made as early as 1996 and also it has one of the modern components used for making its exterior. Also the car features an excellent aerodynamics structure thus creating more downward force but drag forward as well.
